General information about this Surgery Our experienced vets & nurses provide an exceptional healthcare service for dogs, cats, rabbits and birds in the friendly welcoming environment of our veterinary surgery in Oldham.
Briar Dawn Vets was set up in October 2004 by a local vet on the site of a previous veterinary surgery. It has been extensively refurbished to provide excellent accommodation and spacious parking for the rapidly growing practice.
We aim to treat all pets and their owners as family by providing a friendly welcoming environment. Caring, professional, experienced vets and qualified nurses offer veterinary services to meet all needs.
We have a brand new diagnostic imaging suite with a state of the art xray machine, automatic processing, and endoscopy. The theatres have been refurbished to provide an exceptional dentistry facility and a second soft tissue/orthopaedic theatre. The kennels have been refurbished and are separate to the cattery so that cats are able to recover quietly away from dogs.
We use modern safe anaesthetics and a qualified nurse closely monitors pets during anaesthesia. To further reduce anaesthetic risks we also have an onsite well equipped laboratory enabling us to rapidly process blood tests and offer pre anaesthetic screens to check for underlying disease prior to anaesthesia.
All the staff at Briar Dawn are proud of the service we offer and keep up to date by regularly undertaking continuing professional development courses.
The experienced qualified veterinary nurses (QVN) also offer a wide variety of healthcare clinics, some of which are free of charge. These include:
Dave's Diet Club (pet weight reduction clinic), After 8's (senior pets clinic), Puppy and Kitten Clinics (0-1 yr old), Arthritis Awareness Clinics, Dental Healthcare clinics, Flea/Worm/Parasite control etc.
The QVN's also perform dressing changes, remove sutures, check wound healing, microchips, nail clipping, and second vaccinations.
The QVN's admit pets on the morning of surgery/hospitalisation and discharge pets following routine surgery.
