General information about this Surgery:

Parkside has had a large presence as a Vet in Dundee for over 120 years. Working from an ex nunnery in Long Wynd, Dundee, the veterinary practice had to make way for the first new Overgate shopping centre and move to Constitution Road in 1960. Parkside vets were formerly Mr Pedie, then Mr Gibson, followed by Mr Thomson, Mr Davidson and now the present partners.

Parkside Vet Group has grown from 3 Vets in 1980 to 12 Vets now, with 8 working exclusively with Pet Medicine and Surgery - a long way since the one-man "horse vet's" work-load in 1900, which would have been 90% working shire horses, working in 2 and 3-storey city stables in Dundee, near to the docks!

One of our partners has an orthopaedic specialisation (SA) and we accept referrals in this field from other practices. He is also one of only 4 Vets in Scotland qualified to carry out TPLO ops using the Slocum method, for anterior cruciate ruptures. Other partners have special interests in soft tissue surgery, radiology, endoscopy, equine medicine, dental work and in this way we can offer you a comprehensive service within our group.

We work from three surgeries - one in Broughty Ferry, one in Barnhill, close to Monifieth, as well as the new Dundee site, where we have opened our new purpose-built surgery at 5 Kings Cross road, replacing the old Constitution Road surgery. Free parking on-site makes all the difference.

Kings Cross Road open-day was on Sunday May 1st 2005 when over 300 people saw behind the scenes, with stalls from drug companies, Guide Dogs, Mountains Animal sanctuary and even horse-shoe making in the new equine facility

We have an excellent reputation for all Equine work and also travel to farm calls throughout Angus, Fife and East Perthshire. We carry out inspections for Local Authorities and Universities

We are committed to staff training and personal goals and are proud to be Investors in People. We take pride in providing the highest level of care for your pets and are always keen to keep your costs down wherever possible.
