Best UK Vets Awards 2018

Written By: David Harris

You may wonder why we run this directory… well, there are two reasons. Firstly, we think it’s really important that every animal owner can access a user-friendly list of vets in their area! However, there’s another thing that we’re passionate about here at Any-UK-Vet - and that’s customer service.

So, in conjunction with our colleagues at VetHelpDirect.com, we came up with the idea for the Best UK Vet Awards! This is the sixth time we’ve run the competition… and it’s all based on the reviews that you, the animal owning public, leave here and on VetHelpDirect.

The reviews are based on a star system, with 1* being abysmal service, and 5* being the standard of excellence. The reviews can ONLY be left by members of the public, and bad reviews CANNOT be removed by the practice, except for legal reasons. In February each year, we add up all the 4- and 5-star reviews that each practice has, and then rank them! For the top 3, we have Gold, Silver and Bronze awards; we also list the Top 25, and Best In Category for a range of different practice types and locations.

The overall aim is to reward and celebrate those practices which look after their clients well - and encourage others to up their game. So, without further ado, let’s name the winners!

Gold Award - Best UK Vet 2018

Briar House Veterinary Surgery, with 944 top reviews! This left them head and shoulders above everyone else, so well done them! Hazel Mullen from the practice was in no doubt as to why they won - “We would like to say a big thank you to all of our wonderful clients and patients for taking the time to review your experience with us. We are very proud of our surgery so it is a pleasure to receive such positive feedback from our clients.”

Runner Up - Silver Award

Vets 1 Group with 350 top reviews

Runner Up - Bronze Award

St Anne’s Veterinary Group with 330

Of course, not all practices are the same - so we also run Best in Category for the 4 nations of the UK, and for more specialist practices:

Lamond Veterinary Clinic

Best Northern Ireland Practice

Cedar Grove Veterinary Clinic

Best Welsh Practice

St James Veterinary Group - Parkway Surgery

Best London Practice (because the capital is a law unto itself!)

Best Equine Practice (for the horse-vets out there!)

Penmellyn Equine Vets (for the second year in a row!)
